YouTube Video VVVud0dBczM3Z3ZCRC0taEMtNFAxMmlBLlRNelIzWXkzZW9J The Dori Wreck is a dive site located at about 800 meters, or 0,5 mile, off the coast of Ponta Delgada, the capital of São Miguel Island in the Azores. The shipwreck, which is also called ‘ MV Dori’, was built in the United States during the World War II. The ship operated in World War II missions on the Normandy Coast, including the famous Operation Overlord on D-Day, the 6th of June 1944. Dori became a ship wreck when it sunk at less than a kilometer, or 0,50 miles, away from Ponta Delgada, on the 16th of January 1964.

Fishing is prohibited in this area. With a bit of luck you can spot some large pelagic fish around the Dori ship wreck! Dori wreck dive site has a max depth of about 21m (69ft), with the upper structures just at 9m (30ft) below the surface. You can also do some snorkeling here.

The water temperatures around this area in the Azores range from 16°C, or 60.8°F, in winter and about 23°C, or 73.4°F, in summer
