Located deep in the winding streets of the old Jewish Quarter (La Judería), this incredible funeral chapel was built between 1399 and 1410, bridging the 14th and 15th centuries. It is one of the absolute best surviving examples of Mudéjar art in the region, beautifully blending Christian architecture with stunning Islamic decorative styles.
The absolute highlight? Just standing inside and looking at the walls! They are completely covered in mind-blowing, intricate yesería plasterwork, geometric patterns, Arabic inscriptions reading "glory to Allah," and gorgeous medieval tiles.📸 QUICK TRAVEL TIP: Because this chapel is technically integrated into the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters (the old Cardinal Salazar Hospital), it feels completely hidden away. It only costs €1.50 to enter, making it a super cheap and peaceful escape from the crowded streets around the Mosque-Cathedral.🏰 GOOD TO KNOW: The chapel is quite small, so you only need about 15 minutes to soak it all in and take your photos. If you are exploring Córdoba, make sure to look for the courtyard entrance on Calle Averroes. Trust me, it is worth the quick detour! Drop a comment if you love finding these hidden, quiet spots when you travel solo!🎟️ PLANNING YOUR CORDOBA ADVENTURE?Grab the best city passes, entrance tickets, and skip-the-line tickets for your trip here.👉 You need to copy and paste this link in your browser:https://www.getyourguide.com/en-gb/cordoba-l429/?partner_id=M5CWGCB&utm_medium=online_publisher&cmp=YouTube(Disclosure: As a GetYourGuide affiliate, I earn a small commission from qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you!
