YouTube Video VVVud0dBczM3Z3ZCRC0taEMtNFAxMmlBLm9ZUmJlbEpFdERn Welcome to my short video series of Palacio de Las Dueñas in Seville. The 15th-century masterpiece features Gothic, Renaissance, and Mudéjar (Spanish Moorish) styles in nobiliary architecture, design, and arts. It houses over 1400 pieces of art. You can also experience the Andalusian-style courtyards (patios) and gardens here. You can say it houses a botanical garden too, with over 7000 plants. Here is the link to book your entrance ticket to Palacio de Las Dueñas in Seville, Spain:https://www.getyourguide.com/en-gb/palacio-de-las-duenas-l8526/?partner_id=M5CWGCB&utm_medium=online_publisher&cmp=YouTube(I earn a small commission on your purchase through the above link to Palacio de Las Dueñas)Sometimes, the Andalucian palace house Palacio de Las Dueñas is also referred to as Casa de las Dueñas. Here is a little history of Palacio de Las Dueñas in Andalusia, Southern Spain, and how it became part of the House of Alba.Originally, the palatial mansion was owned by the Pineda family. It was named after the 1248 monastery Santa Mará de Las Dueñas. The nuns living in this monastery served the queens of Castilla, St. Ferdinand, and Alfonso X, the Wise. Juan de Pineda was kept prisoner by the Moors. At this time, the Pineda family was struggling financially. They sold Palacio de Las Dueñas to Lady Catalina de Ribera in 1496. Her granddaughter married the 6th Duke of Alba. And so in 1612, the palace house became part of the House of Alba estate. Some interesting facts and things to see about Casa or Palacio de Las Dueñas include:
- The saddle of Eugénie de Montijo, the Empress of France and wife of Napoleon III
- It's the birthplace of the famous Spanish poet Antonio Machado
- Eugénie de Montijo said: "The Spanish sun has never hurt my eyes".Palacio de Las Dueñas is located in the Santa Catalina district in Seville, Andalusia, Spain. In the second part of the short video series, you can see Santa Justa Garden, which is like a botanical garden.#sevilla #sevillespain #historicallandmark #garden
